Mussels with Witbier Broth is a recipe inspired by the classic moules marinière.
Wonderful as a starter or main course, this very simple dish takes one-pot cooking to another level. Really, we can’t stress enough that this is one of the easiest, most delicious ways to prepare mussels. All you need is a great beer, some aromatics, a little bit of butter, and of course fresh mussels!
We chose a witbier and it becomes surprisingly mellow when cooked with the carrots, onions, celery, and butter, though the flavor still comes through in a way that enhances the dish. It turns out perfect every time. Just add a crusty baguette for ultimate enjoyment!
This taste-tested and FLB recommended recipe first appeared on Food Loves Beer, but now you can find it in The Complete Food Loves Beer Cookbook.
Suggested Beer Pairing: Your favorite witbier will complement this dish in the broth and in the glass.
